Dr. Francis: To ask the Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills (1) what discussions he has had with the Welsh Assembly Government on science policy in Wales; and if he will make a statement; (2) what discussions he has had with the Welsh Assembly Government on research funding in Welsh universities; and if he will make a statement.
Ian Pearson: The Department has maintained regular contact with the devolved administrations, including the Welsh Assembly, on research capital funding to maintain the research infrastructure of UK universities.
