MP supports ten years of the National Minimum Wage

Dr Hywel Francis MP for Aberavon has given his support to the celebration of the tenth birthday of the Labour Government’s introduction of the National Minimum Wage.

Hywel Francis at the Unison National Minimum Wage Reception in Parliament with Sheri Dobbs of Cwmafan YWCA who gave a speech in support of the National Minimum Wage Campaign.

Dr Francis said,

‘More than a million workers have benefited from the National Minimum Wage, two thirds of them women. I am also supporting the campaign which ends age discrimination so that it includes apprentices.’

Dr Francis continued,

‘Many national organisations are involved in this campaign, in particular my local branch of the YWCA which is based in Cwmafan. I am proud to support them and I hope you will too.
