MP Demands Better Access to Rail Station

Aberavon MP, Dr Hywel Francis is launching a campaign to improve the access to Port Talbot Railway Station.
Dr Francis said,
“Many constituents have written to me about the difficult access to the station for people with disabilities, young families with push-chairs and passengers with heavy luggage. I am launching a campaign and a petition to install a lift and better facilities in general.
I have had considerable support from members of local organisations including the Aberavon Townswomen’s Guild and the Labour Party as well as prominent figures such as Tony Beddow of Swansea and Neath-Port Talbot Disability Information and Advice Line (DIAL).
I have also consulted with the Equality and Human Rights Commission in Wales and Lord Adonis, the Transport Minister, on this critically important matter”.
