MP opposes Biomass plant application

Aberavon MP, Dr Hywel Francis has joined his Assembly Member, Dr Brian Gibbons in calling on the Environment Agency to reject the application by Prenergy Power to ease the operating limits for a number of emissions from its proposed biomass plant in the centre of Port Talbot.
Dr Francis said,
‘There is a very strong feeling in the town that this plant must abide by the strict operating limits already imposed upon it for health and environmental reasons.’
‘The major road investment through the town recently announced opens up new opportunities for the town and this must not be blighted by the biomass plant development.’
