Dr Hywel Francis MP welcomes Budget to secure recovery

Dr Hywel Francis Labour MP for Aberavon today welcomed the Chancellor’s Budget Statement.
Dr Francis said,
‘I welcome this Budget as it secures the recovery – rather than putting it at risk. It builds a future based on growth and jobs – rather than leaving people to a decade of austerity.’
‘Our Labour Government will do this in a fair way – standing up for the many, not the few.’
‘This Budget will support families by protecting frontline services, the NHS, the police and small businesses. In addition it will set up a Green Investment Bank that will control funds to invest in renewable energy.
Dr Francis added,
‘I am particularly pleased that the Chancellor has emphasised the importance of linking universities to business through a university enterprise capital fund to provide direct support for university innovation and spin-out.’
‘This will hopefully support the proposed Swansea University Second Science and Innovation Campus in the Aberavon constituency.’
