Hywel Francis MP urges Aberavon residents to act now and check their hearing

MP for Aberavon, Dr Hywel Francis, is backing a campaign by Action on Hearing Loss (Cymru) – formerly RNID Cymru – urging Aberavon residents to check their hearing.
Dr Francis said
‘I congratulate Action on Hearing Loss on its 100th birthday and support the charity’s campaign to encouraging people in the UK to get their hearing checked by visiting www.actiononhearingloss.org.uk/check or calling: 0844 800 3838.’
Dr Francis added
‘Only one in three people who could benefit from hearing aids are currently using them, and its takes on average 10 years for people to take action from when they start to notice a problem. Unaddressed hearing loss can lead to depression, social isolation, or an early departure from the workforce.
‘I’m delighted to join the call by Action on Hearing Loss urging people in Aberavon who are struggling to hear their friends, family or colleagues, to act now, get their hearing checked and avoid the unnecessary negative impacts of unaddressed hearing loss in their everyday lives.’
