MP backs Leveson Report

Aberavon MP Dr Hywel Francis has called for a legal framework within which the press should operate.
Dr Francis said
‘In over ten years as a Member of Parliament I have never had so many constituents writing to me - other than over the Iraq War – than over the need for implementation of the Leveson Report.
We have all been shocked by the scale and nature of press intrusion, often illegally, particularly through phone hacking. I see no reason why print journalism should not work within the same legal framework as broadcast journalism.
I fully support Labour Leader Ed Miliband’s call on the Prime Minister to implement in full the main recommendations of the Leveson Report.
