AM and MP welcome Minister’s action
11th September 2012
Aberavon AM David Rees and MP Hywel Francis have welcomed Welsh Education Minister’s decision to call for the re-grading of some English GCSE examination papers.
In a joint statement they said.
“It is widely accepted that some GCSE pupils who sat the English Language paper this Summer were treated unfairly and disadvantaged by not being notified that the grading scheme would change. The Welsh Government has acknowledged that this is unfair treatment compared to those who sat the same papers last Winter.
It should be welcomed that after careful consideration the Welsh Education Minister’s has responded positively and called for the re-grading of the examination papers as a matter of urgency unlike the UK government”.
