MP welcomes new Health Chair

Aberavon MP Dr Hywel Francis has welcomed Professor Andrew Davies as the new chair of the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board.
Dr Francis said,
‘Professor Andrew Davies comes to this post with a wealth of experience as well as a strong commitment to the improving of our NHS locally. I warmly welcome his appointment and look forward to working with him and our Assembly Member for Aberavon Mr David Rees in safeguarding local services.’
‘I shall be meeting Professor Davies very soon and I will outline to him my personal commitment to the Welsh Government’s support for the NHS and its opposition to privatization which is the unfortunate direction the NHS is taking in England. It will also be an opportunity for me to convey the genuine concerns for the future expressed to me by constituents. This is a devolved matter but as a strong supporter of democratic devolution I want the Welsh Government’s plans to succeed through engagement with local communities in Aberavon and to ensure that high levels of care and safety are achieved.’
