MP Hails Rail Petition Success
5th October 2009
Aberavon MP, Dr Hywel Francis has been overwhelmed by the public support for his petition to improve public access to Port Talbot Railway Station.
Dr Francis said,
“In just over an hour we collected four hundred signatures for our petition which wishes to improve access for people with disabilities, parents with children and pushchairs, the elderly and those carrying heavy suitcases.
I have written to Arriva Trains to seek a meeting involving local disabled groups to explore ways of improving access and staffing levels immediately.”
